Selecting the right transportation company for your specific transportation needs depends on multiple selection criteria. Of course the origin and destination of the Yacht, but also the available time frame and budget can be decisive for the selection of the right mode of transportation.
For Ocean Freight we have 2 options
- On board of a liner (container) vessel
- On board of a charter vessel
Shipping of the Yacht per liner (container) vessel means that for sailing Yachts the rigging needs to be be removed before transportation and then replaced on arrival. This operation is part of our service at both origin and destination. Shipping on board of a liner (container) vessel does also bring limitations to the dimensions of the Yacht.
Charter vessels are often specialized in the transportation of special equipment, such as Yachts, whereby the advantage for Sailing Yachts is that the rigging can remain intact. Sailing schedules are irregular compared to liner (container) vessels, however quite often they are scheduled to the most popular sailing areas for yachts, at the right time of the year.
The right choice depends on topics like possible sailings in the requested period, available time and available budget. For Ocean deliveries we work exclusively with parties who do have a professional track record of moving Yachts by ocean, have their own fleet of vessels and are capable of moving your Yacht in the right way. Based on our experience and your requirements, we will advise you, which transportation mode, or combinations, will work out best.
Saillogix will arrange the total transportation from place of loading unto place of delivery, including all required documentation.
